About Me

Writing has led me down some strange paths and introduced me to some hugely rewarding experiences, ever since my very first story, aged five, about a leaf eating dragon who slept in the hollow of a tree. I graduated from the University of Warwick in 2002 with a first class honours degree in English Literature, but managed to avoid the allure of a career in fast food. These days, my life provides plenty of inspiration for my writing. I am passionate about wild swimming; a fledgling gardener and an out and proud advocate for alternative culture. I also teach part-time where being on the front line of the education system informs my writing on the subject. Home is the festival town of Cheltenham Spa, in a pastel coloured house with an indulgent boyfriend and too many books.
